Rare edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, illustrated by A E Jackson in 16 color plates and numerous black and white engravings. The wonderful plates by Jackson are tipped in on thick, gray paper. Published by Hodder & Stoughton, New York. Undated but circa 1920s. Early printing.
All plates and pages are present though several plates are loose. "The rabbit started.." plate damaged at top edge. Some pages with edge wear. 2 plates with ink spots at hinge (see last image).
Covers a bit grubby with bumped corners and wear to edges. Binding shaken, spine faded. Internal hinges cracked. Occasional spot to pages.
