The Joyce Mercer Edition of Andersen and Grimm published by Hutchinson, 1935. A first edition of Mercer's wonderful and very rare, art deco style, illustrated book. Signed and dated by Joyce Mercer on the backside of the front endpaper.
Cloth at front hinge is separating at bottom with some fraying. A bit of fading to color of top of spine. Creases to spine. Wear to cover edges. Missing frontispiece, all other color plates and pages present. Front endpaper worn at edge. Some neat and light coloring to the front endpaper as well. Occasional light spot or smudge.
